Sydney Rae Bass, the influencer wife of Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Anthony Bass and sister of country superstar Jessie James Decker, isn’t getting the outpouring of sympathy she thinks she deserves for a recent situation she says she endured while flying on United Airlines with her young children. In fact, the MLB star and and his equally famous sister-in-law sparked a fierce Twitter debate about parenting, personal accountability and celebrity entitlement when they took to social media to complain that Sydney Rae Bass, 22 weeks pregnant, was “humiliated” when a flight attendant asked her to clean up the popcorn that her daughters, 2 and 5, had spilled in the plane’s aisle.Sydney Bass and Jessie James Decker attend Jessie James Decker x JustFab Launch Event at Urban Cowboy Public House on October 03, 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee. MLB uses Atlantic League to test more rule changes

Published Fri, 21 Feb 2025 10:47:39 GMT

By DAVID BRANDT (AP Sports Writer)PHOENIX (AP) — Major League Baseball isn’t done tinkering with potential rule changes for the sport. The league announced a series of experimental rules Tuesday that will be used in the Atlantic League this season, including a designated pinch runner, “double-hook” designated hitter rule and further limitations on a pitcher’s ability to make pickoff moves. The designated pinch runner rule allows a player who is not in the starting lineup to be used at any point of the game as a substitute baserunner. The player who was subbed out, as well as the pinch runner, would still be able to return to the game. The “double-hook” designated hitter rule allows teams to use the DH throughout the game as long as the starting pitcher throws at least five innings. If that doesn’t occur, the team loses its DH and the pitcher’s spot would bat for the remainder of the game. The rule was also used in the Atlantic Leagu...

Senate GOP pops Feinstein Judiciary replacement balloon

Published Fri, 21 Feb 2025 10:47:39 GMT

Republicans on Monday put up a blockade against the Democratic push to temporarily replace Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) on the Senate Judiciary Committee, saying there is no chance they’ll take a step that will effectively allow President Joe Biden’s most partisan judicial nominations to advance.GOP senators of all stripes lined up in opposition Monday as they returned to the Capitol from a two-week recess partially headlined by questions about when Feinstein would be back. The six-term senator has been absent since late February due to a case of shingles, leaving the Judiciary panel deadlocked 10-10 and unable to pass partisan nominees along for floor votes.“I, for one, am not going to help President Biden’s most unqualified nominees to get confirmed. I don’t think you’ll see us help in that effort,” said Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), a senior member of the panel and a key ally of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).At least five Republicans on the Judiciary Committee ...

Kurtenbach: Draymond Green deserved his ejection, but a Game 3 suspension would be overkill

Published Fri, 21 Feb 2025 10:47:39 GMT

Draymond Green is adamant that there was nowhere else for his foot to go.To hear him detail the situation, Green had to stomp on Domantas Sabonis’ chest after the Kings’ center gave the Warrior’s legs a bear hug.I don’t know about that, but I do know that it would be overkill if the league suspended Green for Thursday’s Game 3 for that incident. What Sabonis did was dirty. You can’t go full Jeff Van Gundy and wrap yourself around your opponent’s legs.Related ArticlesGolden State Warriors | Warriors embracing ‘new challenge’ as they head home down 2-0 in series vs. Kings Golden State Warriors | The Warriors’ dynasty is on life support Golden State Warriors | Warriors drop physical Game 2 to Kings as Fox takes over late following Green ejection Golden State Warriors | Andrew Wiggins to return to starting lineup in Game 2 Golden State Warriors | Warriors...
