A Boston man has been arrested in connection with a deadly stabbing in Mattapan earlier this month, Boston police announced. The stabbing happened on Oct. 19 and left a 78-year-old man dead, according to police. Police said 29-year-old Marc Scutt was subsequently taken into custody murder warrant on Sunday near the corner of Tremont Street and Winter Street. Boston police said officers first responded around 11 a.m. Oct. 19 to a site on Rugby Road after receiving a radio call for a person stabbed. Once on scene, police said, officers found the victim suffering from life-threatening wounds. The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Speaking with reporters at the time of this stabbing, the victim’s next door neighbor said he was shocked by the crime. A Melrose man is under arrest and charged with the stabbing death of an other man who lived in the same Ledge Street home he did.Nathan Baldi, 21, is charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon that caused serious bodily damage after allegedly stabbing James Percent, 47, to death during an altercation at the home, according to the Middlesex DA Marian Ryan’s office.Police were called when a Ledge Street resident reported an altercation at about 7:05 p.m., Saturday. Upon arrival, they found Percent unresponsive and suffering from an apparent stab wounds.Percent was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to the DA’s office.According to police, an altercation initially broke out between Percent and a woman at the home. TAMPA, Fla. — A man has been arrested in Tampa, Florida, in a mass shooting that erupted during Halloween festivities early Sunday. MONTGOMERY, Ill — One person was found dead inside a home during a fire Sunday morning in Montgomery, according to officials.The house fire was reported around 8:45 a.m. in the 1800 block of Ness Avenue. Human remains found in field near Chicago high school When firefighters arrived, they found three people who were able to escape and heard a male was still inside, according to a joint press release from Montgomery police and the Sugar Grove Fire Protection District.Firefighters went inside and found the man dead inside, according to the release. AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was arrested and charged in connection with a hi-rise fire in downtown Austin Sunday.According to a Travis County affidavit, John Heinrich Meyer, 28, faces two charges—arson intended to damage a habitat as well as a charge involving a terroristic threat.Documents said a 911 caller said someone was setting boxes on fire on the balcony of a building in the 90 block of Red River Street.
